Forum urges PM to intervene in Imphal, July 28 2009: The Janjati Dharma Sanskriti Suraksha Manch (Janjati faith and culture protection forum), Guwahati has urged the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh to restore peace and communal harmony in NC Hills of Assam.  A memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister signed by the forum's president BB Jamatia and secretary Jaleswar Brahma, which was also made available to the press, has also urged the PM to provide security to the affected people of the clash, and to punish the culprits.  Among others, the Forum urged to provide relief materials, depute doctors to check the spread of epidemic, provide compensation to victims, to ask Christian Missionaries not to convert Dimasas and Jemes on any plea, to expedite the investigation by NIA and to make necessary arrangement for the schooling of students living in relief camps.
