Guwahati, Oct 9 (PTI) Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today assured full security to the villagers of Bhimajuli in Sonitpur district where NDFB militants killed 15 people last Sunday.
Gogoi, who had to cancel his visit to the village by helicopter yesterday due to inclement weather, met family members of those killed and injured this afternoon.
Gogoi assured the victims' families that the state government had already taken steps to provide security not only to the villagers of Bhimajuli but also to neighbouring areas in the district.
The chief minister had raised the compensation to the relatives of those killed in the violence from Rs three lakh to Rs five lakh.
