GUWAHATI, Dec 24 : Former Chief Minister of Meghalaya DD Lapang and former minister of the neighbouring state Friday Lyngdoh today led a 12-member delegation to Assam seeking a solution to the border dispute between the two states.
The delegation met Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at Dispur and discussed the Langpi issue with him. Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Home Commissioner Rajiv Bora, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister T Y Das and Commissioner to Chief Minister Jishnu Barua were also present during the discussion.
Official sources here said that both sides agreed to maintain peace in Langpi area and to settle the differences through dialogue.
Both the sides also agreed to keep each other abreast of the development programmes being undertaken by any of the sides, said the sources.
