Dec 15 : In Assam, normal life is affected in both North Cachar Hills and Karbi Anglong Districts following a 60-hour North Cachar Hills and Karbi Anglong Districts Bandh called by Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC) Tuesday morning.
All educational institutions, offices, banks, shops and business establishments of both the districts are closed. Vehicular traffic is also off the road. Long distance and inter-district buses are not plying.
However, train services in between Haflong and Badarpur in hill section has not been affected by the Bandh. Security has been stepped up across the both Districts in view of the Bandh.
No untoward incident has so far been reported. The call for the Bandh is given by the Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC) in demand for creation of an Autonomous state by merging both North Cachar hills and Karbi Anglong districts.
