Rangiya (Assam), Nov 2 (PTI) More than 120 people were taken ill after consuming suspected poisonous gram offered to them as 'prasad' during a religious function in Assam's Kamrup (Rural) district today.
Official sources here said the residents of Loharghat village complained of stomach ache and vomiting after consuming gram given to them after a religious function observed in the house of one of the locals.
Those complained of uneasiness were initially admitted to the local health centre and later those in a serious condition were shifted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital, they said.
District authorities have rushed to the area and the samples of the gram have been sent for testing, the sources added.
