DIMAPUR, AUGUST 6 : The presence of Indian security forces in North Cachar Hills have made the situation worst though they were deployed there to stabilise it.
The press release issued by Nchaheing Kompoing, assistant general secretary of AZSU stated that the Dimasa militants have taken the opportunity to guise themselves among the security force, it said: “It’s like a Wolf in sheep clothing”.
The AZSU stated that it “condemns the series of killings and destruction of properties in North Cachar Hills’ since March 2009, in the aftermath of the reign of terror unleashed by DHD (J)”.
It added that the deployment of more than 65,000 security personnel has not done any better for the people as killing continues even in the close proximity of the security forces.
The union in the note informed that the Dimasa militants move freely with arms in connivance with security personnel with the help of a local guide and attacking the unarmed innocent “Zeliangrong Nagas”.
It further mentioned that on July 31, Haidauhingbe Nriame, 69, of Borohenam village was shot dead by the militants while he was working in his field.
In another similar incident, 17 years old, Kisanningle Zeme of Haflong town was also shot dead in broad daylight on August 1.
