BHEL to set up captive power plant at oil refinery in Assam

Aug 28, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- BHHEF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Bharat Heavy Electricals has won a turnkey contract for setting up an energy efficient and environment friendly gas turbine-based captive power plant
for an oil refinery in Assam, India.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has said that Oil India has placed the order worth approximately INR1.9 billion, for the 20MW gas turbine-based captive power plant. The project will be set up by the company on lumpsum turnkey basis at Duliajan in Assam.

BHEL has said that its scope of work in the project envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the complete captive power plant, in addition to civil works.

The equipment for the project will be supplied by BHEL's plants in Hyderabad, Bhopal, Jhansi and electronics division, Bangalore. Erection and commissioning of the captive power plant will be carried out by the company's power sector in Eastern Region, Kolkata.
