Zaman backs young colts of Assam

Dhubri, June 22 : Former first-class cricketer Zaved Zaman, the only player from Assam to play for India A in 2001-2002, has said that proper coaching backed with adequate facilities would go a long way in grooming talented players in the state.

Expressing satisfaction with the manner in which his first ACA assignment ended on Thursday in Dhubri, the former pacer said he was very happy to have trained some of the finest talents at the first-ever under-19 zonal camp organised by Dhubri District Sports Association at Dhubri Sports Complex.

“Spending 18 long days with upcoming cricketers in my hometown gave me a different feeling. It is the outcome that matters most. There is no dearth of talent in the lower Assam districts, particularly in Dhubri,” Zaman observed.
