Rangiya , Feb 25 Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today invoked multiple- Oscar winner" Slumdog Millionaire"to encourage filmmakers of the state and sought their help in reviving the crisis-ridden film industry saying they should take heart from the success story of the Danny Boyle movie.
"The filmmakers of the state should take heart from the fact that the Indian film industry is on a high after the success of' Slumdog Millionaire&aposin the Oscars,"he said.
Laying the foundation stone of a permanent campus of Jyoti Chitraban Film and Television Institute at Sila, near here, to revive the industry he said his government has decided to upgrade technology and will take assistance of experts from across the country.
The institute will be made one of the best in the country and young filmmakers of the state will get a chance to make quality films, he said.
He urged the filmmakers to make use of the institute and bring national and international repute to the state&aposs film industry.
