At a time when veterans in the Assamese film industry are at a loss to conjure up a dream formula to revive commercial cinema, Dhiraj Kashyap, a relative greenhorn in the field, with just one feature film to his credit, has hit bull’s eye. Kashyap’s second feature film, Dhan Kuberor Dhan, the third celluloid commercial release of the year, is being screened in full houses in two theatres of Guwahati till its third week. The story is about a group of four educated unemployed youths who to stay in a rented house of a wealthy but miserly person who lives with his ambitious wife and a pretty young daughter. The young tenants are economically backward but shrewd and clever enough to dilly-dally with the house owner in terms of rent payment. The amount piled up and as such the owner could not throw them out. The boys start then play yet another game. They befriend with the owner’s wife and daughter. This infuriates the owner.
