GUWAHATI, Jan 24 – The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), as directed by the Gauhati High Court, today submitted the progress report of the investigation being carried out by it into the mysterious death of Dr PC Ram, Executive Director, Food Corporation of India (NE). “The CBI in its report stated that the investigation into the stated death of Dr Ram is heading in the right direction and so far 110 people have been examined in this connection,” senior lawyer Nekibur Zaman said.
“They also informed the Court that all the relevant documents gathered by them during the course of the investigation have been sent to Forensic Science Laboratory for examination,” Zaman pointed out.
It needs mention here that Praveen Kumar Gautam along with his uncle S Ram, on January 6, filed a writ petition before the Court seeking details of the investigation carried out by the CBI.
The CBI further informed the Court that it is investigating the case from both ‘murder’ and ‘kidnapping’ angles.
