Guwahati, Dec 21 : A thirty-member CBI team led by DIG P Kamraj on Friday arrived here to probe the October 30 serial bomb blasts in Assam that killed at least 89 people.
"They are scheduled to visit the blast sites in the city and other parts of the state," official sources said.
The CBI has taken over the probe from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the state government following the deadly blasts that killed at least 89 people and injured about 500 others.
The team comprises of forensic scientists, ballistic experts and photographers.
Police have claimed that banned ULFA and NDFB with the help of Bangladesh-based Harkatul-ul-Jehadi (HUJI) had carried out the serial blasts.
