MUSHALPUR, Dec 28 – The foundation stone of District Museum-Baksa to be constructed at Mushalpur with a budget of Rs 70 lakh was laid by Singharam Boro, Executive Member, BTC on December 24 last. Foundation stones of rural hut, Bodoland guest house, handloom emporium, drain construction and Tihunadi Irrigation Scheme were also laid at Mushalpur on the same day. Maheswar Basumatary, EM, BTC laid the foundation stone of rural hut construction worth Rs 20 lakh while Executive Member Hitesh Basumatary laid the foundation stone of handloom emporium to be built with Rs 70 lakh. The market complex worth Rs 23 lakh was inaugurated by Maneswar Brahma, MLA No. 62 Barama LAC while Thaneswar Basumatary MLA, No. 63 Chapaguri LAC laid the foundation stone of Bodoland Guest House to be built with Rs 50 lakh. The foundation stone of Tihunadi Irrigation Scheme, Bunbari to be implemented under AIBP scheme with Rs 7 crore was laid by Hitesh Basumatary, EM, Irrigation.
Capacity building training: A capacity building training and awareness programme on socio-economic issues for SHGs was held at Nikashi in Baksa district with a three-day programme recently. Discovery Club (an NGO) Nikashi branch organised the programme which was sponsored by DRDA, Baksa.
Moon Singh Brahma, the local MCLA, inaugurated the training, where two representatives of 45 SHGs took part. Rabindra Sarma, Manager, AGVB, Mushalpur, Om Narayan Pathak, EO Vety, Baska block, Sarbananda Bhandary, lecturer, Gyanpeeth College, Bipin Das, Gram Sevak, Baska dev block, Gagan Pathak, gram sevak, Baska dev block, Khanin Haloi-SW, Social Welfare, Indira Lahary, Co-ordinator, AACP, Kokrajhar, Binen Kachary, Renaissance NGO, Mushalpur and Banita Mushahary, co-ordinator, SHG, Discovery Club, Kokrajhar were present as the resource persons.
Dayananda Bhandary, social activist presided over the awareness programme where Manna Singh Brahma, co-ordinator, Nikashi branch Of Discovery Club explained the purpose of the awareness meet. Moon Singh Brahma, MCLA No. 23 Dihira constituency, Banamali Boro, MCLA No. 25 Baganpara Constituency, officials, and leading citizens were present on the occasion.
