GUWAHATI, Oct 26 – Chairman of the National Wage Boards for Working Journalists and Non–Journalist Newspaper Employees, Justice GR Majithia will visit Guwahati on January 3 next year. A former judge of the Bombay High Court, Justice Majithia will be accompanied by the members and staff of the boards.
An official release said, during his two–day visit to Guwahati, Justice Majithia will hear the stakeholders vis–a–via employees, journalists’ unions and othernewspaper employees and their unions as well as the owners of the newspapers ahead of fixing–revising wages in respect of working journalists and non–journalistnewspaper employees.
The two–day hearing on January 3 and 4 will take place at Guwahati Circuit House from 11 am to 2 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm. The hearing for the States of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh will also take place at Guwahati on the same dates. As for Meghalaya, the hearing has been slated for January 5 and 6 followed by Tripura on January 7 and 8 next, the release added.
