NALBARI, Dec 28– The Nalbari district administration organised a workshop on the Right to Information Act 2005 at the conference hall of Nalbari DRDA office on December 24 last.
The workshop, conducted by Dinesh Ch Nath, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nalbari was inaugurated by GD Tripathy, Deputy Commissioner Nalbari. In the inaugural speech Tripathy explained the importance of RTI Act. He directed the departmental heads to be ready to provide all type of information to the public. He also called upon the officials to monitor the work of information officers and assistant information officers.
Taking part in the workshop as resource person, advocate Nekibur Rahman described the benefits of the new Act. The workshop was addressed among others by Niva Baruah, chairman of Nalbari Zilla Parisad, Manjit Brahma, project director, DRDA, Nalbari.
The workshop was attended by departmental heads of the district, block development officers, circle officers, block elementary education officers, sub-divisional medical officers, police officers, child development project officers, presidents and secretaries of gaon panchayats among others.
